Purified smoke for a conscious, healthy and sustainable diet. Product and environmentally friendly smoking without ashes, tar and PAHs.
For the second time, the world’s leading organic trade fair BIOFACH in Nuremberg will feature “Green smoke for healthier and more environmentally friendly products”. From February 14th to 17th, the CleanSmoke Coalition will inform interested manufacturers and processors from the entire food industry in hall 5 booth 5-441 about the smoking process with pre-purified smoke – which is now equally permitted for organic and conventional products.
Already since the end of 2021, the CleanSmoke smoking process is compatible with the conventional smoking process approved for organic products – but offers immense advantages for people, nature and environment
After BioFach, the CleanSmoke Organic Campaign was represented at the Italian organic trade fair SANA in Bologna. The producers’ association AssoBio, the certifier Suolo e Salute and the Organic Department of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture were the most important discussion partners.

Organic with CleanSmoke as a transformation agent After the EU Agricultural Commission approved the CleanSmoke smoking process for organic products at the end of 2021,
Smoking with pre-cleaned primary smoke condensate is now explicitly stated in the current amendments to Naturland’s processing standards
Naturland was the first major international farming organisation to include the CleanSmoke smoking process in its processing guidelines, thus permitting the product- and environmental-friendly smoking
Now that organic processors are finally allowed
to smoke in a product- and environmentally
friendly way throughout Europe, the platform
organic-markt reports in detail about this
smoking process. CleanSmoke has arrived in
the European organic sector.
Together with the attached press statement, as the leader of the CleanSmoke Organic Educational Campaign, I would like to thank the European share- and stakeholders in the organic sector for their broad support. In the new year we will work together to inform producers/processors and consumers.
After long discussions, supported by EGTOP,
the EU Agriculture Commission has confirmed that
a smoking process with pre-purified smoke
due to the comparability with conventional ones
must also be permitted for organic products.
